The Beauty Goddess is revealed…

So, Beauty Heaven’s pearly gates have finally closed – phew. That was a lot of sharing you guys did. For those who missed it, we were giving away over £10,000 worth of prizes over in Beauty Heaven, and all you had to do to be in with a chance of winning was to share the Wahanda love with your friends. We had Beauty Lovers from all over the country joining in to try and get the most covetable prize, by gaining the esteemed Beauty Goddess status. But only one could win the ultimate heavenly beauty package, and the winner was…. drumroll please… Maxine from Hertfordshire!

Wahanda named Best Commerce Startup at the 2010 Techcrunch Europas

We’re not ones to blow our own trumpet, but you may have heard that our little website is now award winning. That’s right, after having been nominated for a Techcrunch Europa (a series of awards that honour European start up companies that are based online), we learned last Friday evening that despite stiff competition, our wonderful wellness hub had won us the title of ‘Best Commerce Startup’.

We are incredibly proud of the accolade and extremely grateful to all those who voted for us. It means so much to know that our continued online efforts to bring you the best spa and salon services at both the consumer and business end are being recognised, and we promise (hand on heart) that we’ll endeavour to make the Wahanda experience not only bigger and better, but even more user friendly in the near future.

Customers and suppliers alike, we genuinely do appreciate your feedback, support and the fact that you believe in us. We love working with you all and having you as part of the ever-growing Wahanda family, so from the tech team who make sure all the cogs (as well as the snazzy online flashy bits) run smoothly, to the content writers, business savvy head honchos and behind the scenes sales and customer service helpers- a massive thank you!

York Tourism Awards 2010

Believe it or not, York’s tourism industry is worth a whopping £443 million, attracting over seven million visitors each year, so it’s only right that the York Tourism Awards were set up to recognize the big achievers in the business. This year, on 22nd April, the award ceremony set up shop in the National Railway Museum and opened its doors to 400 guests, all eager to see who had won what.

The evening was hosted by writer and broadcaster Gervase Phinn, who rewarded those that had made a splash in the industry pool by handing out 13 awards. But The Feversham Arms & Verbana Spa only cared about one… The Hotel of the Year 2010 award. After graciously accepting this honour, owner Jill Rhatigan said “It’s an amazing achievement for all the team at The Feversham & Verbena Spa, who have all worked incredibly hard over the last 12 months.  We are so proud of each and every award we receive but we are especially delighted as this one is from our local tourism community which makes it that bit more special”.

Situated in the idyllic market town of Helmsley in the charming countryside of North Yorkshire, it’s no wonder that The Feversham walked away with the award. The very name Verbena Spa is synonymous with comfort, boasting plump cushions, and sofas that threaten to swallow you whole. The relaxation lounge overlooks the south facing terrace garden, and its floor to ceiling glass doors and windows afford you an unequalled view of the English country gardens they have lovingly created.

Wahanda Winners

We love a good competition at Wahanda and last month we had one of our best. We gave you the chance to win two fantastic anti-ageing products from well-loved skincare brand Murad, worth a whopping £210 – not your average beauty buy!

Thousands upon thousands of you entered to win by signing up to our fun-filled newsletter, in the hope of winning your way to youthful skin. So, drum roll please….

Congratulations to Molly from Leeds, Caroline from London and Linda from Glasgow – these lucky ladies all won £210 worth of beauty know-how from Murad. Each winner will receive one Intensive Wrinkle Reducer and Intensive Wrinkle Reducer for Eyes for wrinkle free, youthful skin.

And that’s not all – yes we know, we are too kind.
