Pamper me Beautiful – WWC Event at DestinationSkin

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

DestinationSkin, LondonThe Wahanda Wellness Club thought it was time to indulge in a spot of free pampering, so we happily headed on down to the DestinationSkin Clinic at London’s Westfield shopping centre to get  our free skin consultation and facial worth £95.

On arrival, guests received a warm welcome, wonderful smiling faces as well as champagne, strawberries, pretty little cup cakes and a tray full of other tempting goodies. We were then seated in the reception area where we were asked to fill in a health form and questionnaire, before being whisked away by one of the friendly members of staff for our consultation. Based on the questionnaire each guest was given the chance to discuss with the consultant about their skin concerns and treatments they would be interested knowing more about.

Following the consultation, guests were placed before a machine for a skin analysis using the latest skin imaging system to detect the level of hydration, congestion, blood distribution and sun damage that the skin may have.

Based on the skin analysis, guests were then treated to a facial tailored to suit their skin type and were taken to a private treatment room. There are five treatment rooms, all with a clean, airy and contemporary feel to it.

The facial treatment consisted of a gentle scrub to remove dead skin cells and open pores, followed by a fruit acid exfoliation which was left on for about 5 minutes and lastly a hydrating moisturiser was massaged over the face and neck for a soft and supple finish.

Guests were then given the opportunity to sample the new cellulite busting machine, known as SmoothShapes. Wahanda reviewer Amily was one of the first lucky guests to try SmoothShapes saying:

“The new machine had only been unwrapped at the store earlier that day, and had come straight in from the USA. The treatment felt like a hoover sucking hard on the problem areas, but was not painful at all, and after a while became rather therapeutic!”

Before heading off home, the staff were more than happy to discuss any further treatments that guests may have wanted including laser hair removal, permanent make up and other facial treatments. They were also offering a great discount of 20% off any treatment that was booked that day, so lucky you can indulge in yet another pamper session.DestinationSkin, London

All guests were also given the chance to win a £100 Wahanda voucher, simply by writing a review of their treatment on Wahanda.

If you didn’t make this event, don’t worry. You can still be involved, find out how you can be one of the first to be invited to all future Wellness Events.

Jason Scott, Powertone Manager

Jason Scott, Powertone Manager

Last Thursday, the Wahanda Wellness Club were lucky enough to be invited down to the Powertone Studios in Fulham for a fun, yet intensive free taster session on the latest fitness trend – Power Plates.

Before the session commenced, guests were given a brief introduction by top instructor Sebastian about how the Power Plates work, before getting stuck in on their invigorating work out.

A full 25-minute session on the plates was all it took to work up a good sweat. Guests were asked which part of their body they would most like to tone up and Sebastian was able to show a workout tailored to everyone’s needs.

This fun, fast and effective time-saving machine is a great way to reduce body fat, produce a natural ‘high’, tone muscles, enhance vitality, detoxify and improve skin tone and limit the appearance of cellulite.

Powertone StudioGuests were super impressed with the workout, the helpful instructor and the studio ambience, so it’s no surprise that reviews have already started to flood in. In her review, Hemmysphere gave the session a five out of five saying:

“All the staff and the instructor, Sebastian, was lovely. Most importantly, I felt that I got a really good workout in 20 minutes with personalised attention from the instructor who was motivating and paid attention to my form.”

Before everyone headed off to relax, they were all given an introduction to the NARL fat-burning machine and given a complimentary pass to another session of Power Plates at any one of their studios based in Fulham, Chelsea, Mayfair or Battersea, so there’s no excuse not to keep up the good work!

If you missed this event, there’s no need to miss out – Wahanda is exclusively offering a free session at Powertone Studios which you can book directly online.

An eventful evening at Beautcamp Pilates

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

Beautcamp PilatesThe second of Wahanda’s successful Wellness Club events kicked off on Wednesday with an hour long complimentary session at Beautcamp Pilates in West London. A little more active than our previous event, guests were treated to a session with instructor Aaron who showed them why Beautcamp Pilates has become such a phenomenon after it’s popularity in LA.

Pilates

Everyone worked up a good sweat and were impressed by how energetic the exercises were. The reviews have already started to come in to thank Beautcamp and Wahanda for such a rewarding class. In her review, Judy-J gave the session five out of five, saying:

“Aaron was really helpful and came round for each position to make sure we were doing it correctly. I wasn’t expecting it to be such a good workout as I thought it would be more about stretching than cardio, but it was a good measure of both and I felt thoroughly worked out afterwards!”

WinnerBefore everyone scooted off to get freshly showered, Aaron was asked to select someone at random to win a prize of five free sessions at Beautcamp Pilates and the lucky winner of the night was Sophie, who can use her prize at either the West London or City branch- so there’s no excuses! All guests were also given the chance to win a £50 Wahanda voucher, simply by writing a review of Beautcamp Pilates on Wahanda.

Meet your hosts

Monday, March 16th, 2009

You may well know what pilates is and perhaps even how to do it, but even the most avid pilates enthusiast may not have heard of Beautcamp Pilates, for shame. That’s where Wahanda can help. With the launch of our Wahanda Wellness Club events in March we thought, who better to work with than an LA-inspired business in the heart of the capital? In stepped Beautcamp Pilates, with its Bayswater location being booked especially for Wahanda-ites to come and try a free session and see what all the fuss (and fun) is about.

Beautcamp Pilates
In case you’re still not sure whether to sign up for your fitness freebie, we thought it was high time we introduced you to Beautcamp to give you a better idea of what they do. Named by the Evening Standard as one of the top five pilates studios in London, Beautcamp is revolutionary because it combines the best of all three pilates styles: traditional, therapeutic, and circuit training. More importantly, it will help you get a toned and taut body – and fast.

Follow in the footsteps of Denise Richards, Ben Stiller and Nicole Kidman, and get your fitness fix with the latest pilates trend. The Beautcamp method is the most innovative and aggressive approach to full body conditioning, because it generates weight loss, full body muscle toning, defined abs, and increased flexibility. Summer is round the corner and you won’t get a sun-kissed glow by covering up on the sand, so tone and hone your body with this tried and tested trend courtesy of Wahanda.

As before, simply email community@wahanda.com with your name and postcode, put Pilates in the subject line, and we’ll let you know by the end of Tuesday whether you’re good to go. If chosen, not only will you enjoy the free session and refreshments, you’ll also be entered into a competition for the chance to win another five free classes with Beautcamp Pilates, so you’ll be ship-shape in no time.

Champneys Champs

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

While most of you will be gearing up for the festivities, fighting your way out of turkey and tinsel and worrying about how to deal with post-party hangovers, spare a thought for our Wahanda winners. November saw us giving away, not one, not two, but six Champneys spa prizes, which means that while you get stuck into seasonal preparations, six lucky Wahanda-ites will be pampering themselves to perfection.

With two top spa day prizes up for grabs and six product goodie bags on the cards, our Champneys champs were full of glee when we revealed their fate, especially seeing as though neither of our first prize winners have been to a Champneys spa before. Not that they’re spa virgins of course, Cierra – our very own jet-setter last visited the spa at The Ritz in Bali and is a regular at Kinesis pilates studio in Notting Hill, whilst fellow first-prize winner and sun-worshipper LizzieH also likes to spa when she’s on her hols. She’s already got a trip to Longleat’s Centre Parc’s spa in her diary for next year and this summer made the most of Madeira’s spa scene – jealous yet!?

But it’s not just our number one winners who like to indulge – all of our runners-up have a penchant for pampering too which is why they all have such superb pre-party preparation rituals. Billygilly (pictured) swears by a good exfoliation so her skin doesn’t become dull, followed by lashings of moisturiser to get her skin ready for the fake tan that follows and Nickintven loves nothing more than sweating it out in a sauna before the party starts. Sticking to their more regimented regime, neither visioneer nor Chris will leave the house without moisturising with the latter opting for a spritz of his favourite after-shave to finish.

It’s not all about the moisturisers and the massages though – it’s clear our Wahanda winners like to party as hard as they like to spa (both LizzieH and Kat40 (pictured) admit they’re suckers for a glass of wine), which is why all of their New Year’s Resolutions seem to centre around drinking less, eating better and exercising more – luckily for them, Wahanda has everything they need to become fitter, happier and healthier in 2009!

For detox deals and inspirational ideas look no further, and if you’re desperate to win more Wahanda prizes, make sure you visit our Wahanda Advent Calendar – we’re giving away fabulous spa prizes every day from now until Christmas!
