Your online partner has had a makeover…

Wednesday, March 16th, 2011

You’ll know by now that here at Wahanda we’re dedicated to making sure that everyone looks and feels the best they can at all times. With our daily MobDeals, beauty offers and fitness fixes, we’ve got it covered from head to toe.

So with all of this beautifying going around, we thought we’d better step up to the mark and indulge in a little makeover ourselves. Can’t go letting the side down by looking shabby, can we?

We’ve got six big changes for you:

It’s all designed to make things much easier for customers to get what they want, where they want it, for the best possible price. Who can argue with that? And don’t worry, as a supplier, if your products are popular they’ll be instantly visible from the main pages – no more searching through the site to find the bestsellers. Clients will also find it much easier to search by location now, so you’ll get more local customers through your doors, who are more likely to keep coming back. We look good from all angles…

Phew. We’re exhausted from all of this pampering. While we bask in our new-found gorgeousness, wander around the site and take advantage of all the beauty deals we’ve got going for you as well – and don’t forget to let us know what you think of our makeover by tweeting @Wahanda. We quite like compliments, you know…

Wahanda’s venue pages get a facelift

Wednesday, January 19th, 2011

We’ve been around for a while now and a few wrinkles were starting to set in, so we thought it was high time for a facelift – for the site, of course. For this past month our designers and tech wizards have been working on shiny new venue pages that do an even better job of showing off what you’ve got – whether you’re a spa, salon, yoga studio or leisure centre… or anything else. No matter what your business is all about, we’ve given your page a bit of pampering to make sure it looks its best at all times.

Faster
The new makeover sees fewer tabs, which means customers can see what they need even faster than before. A quick click of the mouse and your address, opening times, images, and reviews are all at their fingertips.

Friendlier
The new pages are far more deal-friendly, with your best offers showcased in a simple but stylish format. Customers will be able to see what your top deals sitting alongside your location and your reviews, without so much as a click of a mouse.

Fuller
With all your vital statistics, team members and community reviews on one page, your profile will look polished and professional so customers know you’re the experts. Your menu still has its own page and all the contact details are easily accessible – a far better customer experience.

Keep an eye out for the new pages over the next couple of weeks – we think you’ll like them…

Wahanda teams up with Metro for a hat-trick of press partnerships

Wednesday, December 8th, 2010

We might be your number one marketing partner, but in addition to our blossoming friendship we also work with some great press partners to make sure you’re getting the attention you deserve.

Along with the Evening Standard and IPC’s Marie Claire, Woman & Home and In Style magazines, we’re now working with the Metro to tell the UK about what we do, what you do, and how they can treat themselves thanks to your wonderful services.  What’s more, it’s both on and offline, so everyone can see what they’ve been missing whether they’re browsing the sites, clicking into their inboxes or reading the paper on the way home.

In the short while that Wahanda has been around, we’ve had press coverage in magazines, websites, blogs, newspapers and supplements; from glowing reviews by highly acclaimed beauty columnists to being named a top beauty website by ELLE, we’re pretty pleased with ourselves.

All of this coverage is great news for you – any spa goer, fitness fanatic or yoga guru who likes what they read will click on to Wahanda and discover your business and products – so they could be your very next customer.

If you’ve got an offer so good it needs to be shouted from the rooftops, get in touch – we might just be able to help, whether you’re in London or Edinburgh or somewhere in between. We’ve gone national, chaps…

Wahanda relaunches ‘services’ – price lists for your business

Wednesday, December 8th, 2010

Treatments, packages, and therapist-dependent pricing: a series of names and numbers that is difficult enough to perfect when dealing with your own listings, let alone Wahanda’s menu system, right? Wrong.

We realise how important being able to accurately show off your wonderful wares is to your businesses, and so we’ve given our menu structure a much-needed overhaul. Spas and salons of the nation, we present you with Services – the new and improved way of displaying and selling cuts, colours, manicures, massages and more on Wahanda.

So what (other than the name) has changed? Well, we thought you’d never ask…

  • You can now add full treatment menus (with prices) for free.

That’s right, if you are listed on Wahanda, you can now have your full treatment menu up for all to see on your profile page. You don’t have to have an enhanced listing, or accept the Wahanda voucher at your venue (though of course you’re welcome to); there’s no charge, no obligations and no strings attached. We’re simply giving you the chance to present a comprehensive list of everything you offer, making it visible to thousands of potential customers who visit the site each day.

  • It adds further personalisation to your page.

Stand out from the crowd by flaunting what makes you special. If you boast some of the country’s top Budokon classes or create in-demand Minx masterpieces, you can now make sure customers know exactly what you offer on your services page. Showcase your individual stylists, custom treatment combos and talents by listing more specific details about your business and attract loyal customers who know exactly what they want.

  • If you wish to, you can sell your menu online.

Drive up your sales and welcome hoards of new customers by upgrading to a premium profile, and as well as all the other fantastic benefits, Wahanda will allow you to sell your services directly through the site. We’ll cleverly tweak your menu and package listings so that with one click, customers can pocket packages, treatments and appointments without ever leaving your Wahanda page. You will of course be kept fully informed when it comes to purchases, and automatically notified about what services have been purchased when.

  • You can show up in on-site search results.

If you upgrade to a premium profile and start selling your services, customers will be able to browse through them with our search facility. When a Wahanda visitor searches for ‘fabulous highlights’, your hairdressing salon’s page will pop up, along with your entire catalogue of services. As they are quickly and easily able to see precisely what you do and how much you charge, it’ll hopefully result in them promptly deciding it’s you they want to tint and tame their tresses.

Simple and so much better, eh? We think so too. If you’d like to take advantage of purchasable menu options, feel free to drop us a line at supply.uk@wahanda.com and we’ll see to it so that the orders soon come flooding in. We’re at your service… and you’re welcome!

Wahanda on wellness

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010

The wellness tourism sector has expanded rapidly over the last decade, with destination spas around the world experiencing a massively increased demand for wellbeing-driven getaways. New venues have been consistently springing up, hoping to capitalise on the hunger for health-boosting holidays, but at the forefront of the global growth is Healing Hotels of the World, an esteemed professional network of luxury wellness centres that spans five continents and 25 different countries.

To gain an insight into industry developments and their sustainability, Wahanda recently spoke to Anne Biging, CEO of the Healing Hotels partnership, about her thoughts on what is driving the international boom, the changing perception of health in society and the direction her own business and personal wellness paths are about to take.

Wahanda named Best Commerce Startup at the 2010 Techcrunch Europas

Monday, November 22nd, 2010

We’re not ones to blow our own trumpet, but you may have heard that our little website is now award winning. That’s right, after having been nominated for a Techcrunch Europa (a series of awards that honour European start up companies that are based online), we learned last Friday evening that despite stiff competition, our wonderful wellness hub had won us the title of ‘Best Commerce Startup’.

We are incredibly proud of the accolade and extremely grateful to all those who voted for us. It means so much to know that our continued online efforts to bring you the best spa and salon services at both the consumer and business end are being recognised, and we promise (hand on heart) that we’ll endeavour to make the Wahanda experience not only bigger and better, but even more user friendly in the near future.

Customers and suppliers alike, we genuinely do appreciate your feedback, support and the fact that you believe in us. We love working with you all and having you as part of the ever-growing Wahanda family, so from the tech team who make sure all the cogs (as well as the snazzy online flashy bits) run smoothly, to the content writers, business savvy head honchos and behind the scenes sales and customer service helpers- a massive thank you!
